Spit Thread

4x5 film

A delicate thread still ties those that once touched portraying a moment of attraction and aversion.  The transient moment is frozen and despite the delicacy of the spit thread and its effortless disintegration as the two bodies inevitably drift apart, seemingly they are caught, both moored to the shore of the other.

According to the Huna belief a branch of Hawaiian Mysticism, there is what is called an  ‘aka cord’ or a sticky, elastic substance that forms a bond between two things, two people, a connection that conducts vital energy and thought forms through its cord.  The aka cord is much like the metaphysical counter part of electrical wiring, said to be strongest in love relationships, but which also bonds one to inanimate objects.  Although parted, their energetic connection still remains.
